Hymns: Break Thou The Bread Of Life; How Sure The Scriptures Are
I am always amazed when I read the account of Josiah the boy-King and the finding of the Law in the Temple of God. Read about in in the Bible book of 2nd Chronicles chapter 34.
How is it that THE LAW was LOST in the Temple itself?
It was found in the Temple, which means it wasn't taken out of the Temple. So it's not like someone checked it out and forgot to return it for 20 or more years.
It just got put down one day.
And the next day, it wasn't picked up.
Or the next.
Or the day after that…
…until…
…eventually…
…it passed into legend…
…and was all but forgotten.
Then, it was found. And the light of Heaven was shone into the darkness of the world.
And there was much rejoicing!
Until it happened again.
Until only a few were even looking anymore, that night the shepherds were startled and the light shone into and right out of Bethlehem town.
It's this Light we still long for, to shine right into and out of our lives.
I must pick up the Word from wherever I've laid Him down. I must taste and see that the Word is good.
